Most of us know Tom Ament as an avid single speeder, fast guy.  Did you know he brought Vassago Cycles back to life?  The guy has passion, and is driven to succeed.  Similarly he wants to help grow the sport of mountain biking.  To that end, Vassago Cycles will be the official sponsor of the Single Speed category (men and women) for the 2014 (and hopefully beyond) season.  Expect rad schwag and…get this….if you race in 4 or more events, you qualify to win a free frame from Vassago!  Yep.  One lucky rider will get a FREE Vassago frame, randomly selected from among all the single speed riders that competed in 4 or more single speed races in the series.  Time to drop the gears, or better yet, pick up a new steed from Vassago!

ADDED BONUS - MBAA members will be able to get a 10% discount on frames at local Vassago dealers and online!

Bishop Gary ShaneTop 3 pics are up on Facebook, and shown below.  Give them a like and let’s see which of these lucky gents will get to ride in the 2013 Dawn to Dusk race gratis, thanks to DCB!

Fluid-Logo-webFluid has been our “go to” hydration fuel for the past few years and they will be BACK in force for 2014.  Fluid has been an integral part of our refueling station on site at each event and has been faithful in making sure we have enough product available for you to keep your electrolytes topped off and enable you to race at your best.  Check out Fluid Recovery to help you recover today and perform tomorrow!  Thanks for the support, we look forward to the 2014 season!

global bikes1Al, Brandee, Mark and the whole crew at Global Bikes helped take the races this season to a different level.  They chopped up fruit, gave out salty snacks of goodness, refilled jugs, and made sure everything stayed topped off and nothing walked off that shouldn’t have.  In the process, they lost a few tents at MARC in the park and made our lives easier.  Hopefully you all gave them some extra love as a LBS that is active in the cycling community.  If not, take a second and give them an extra like or 2 for their facebook page or better yet, drop in and say thanks in person.

It means a lot to us – as cyclists and as a local event series to say that Global will be back on board for 2014 – not only keeping us stocked up, but as the presenting sponsor for the McDowell Meltdown, as well as the MARC in the Park events!  Thank you for your support!

We’ve been stoked to have Kate’s bars on board for the past 2 years, and can’t be more thrilled to tell you that they will be back in 2014!  The bars are insanely good AND organic.  Kate recently signed off on one of her blogs with their tagline – “Real Food. Real Energy. Real Good.”  she then added “Real people. Real Play. Real Living.”  We dig it and can’t agree more.

Thanks Kate for the support of the Mountain Bike Association of Arizona!

Now, go do us and Kate a favor, and ask your Local Bike Shop (LBS) for some Kates!
