The fourth annual Fire On the Rim took place over the weekend. The MBAA and the PSFR (Pine Strawberry Fuel Reduction) non-profits join forces to produce this event – and just about everyone in the local community comes out to volunteer, cheer, drink beer or ride in the event. This year saw a 31% jump in registration with over 277 riders taking part in the event. The 45 mile field was stacked with talent and local AZ rider Hunter Keating took the overall win in a tight finish. The 30 miler was taken by another Arizonan – Brian Little, and the 15 mile was taken by MBAA board member Michael Melley. The 45 mile relay was a battle, and in the end the locals from 87 Cyclery dominated the defending champs Team America. In the end the event helped raise several thousand dollars for the non-profits, had 3 killer bands and phenomenal beer from THAT brewery. We look forward to next year as this event continues to grow and impact the local community. Thank you for your support.
